Marketing & Communications Specialist

Job Summary

The Marketing Communications Specialist plays a key role in supporting the marketing and sales efforts of our business. This position is responsible for developing and executing communication strategies that promote our products, services, and brand to both internal and external audiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of B2B marketing, technical product communication, and digital marketing platforms.  This position will require 10% travel throughout the year. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Content Development & Management

  • Create and manage print and digital marketing materials, including but not limited to:
    • Social Media- Post both static and video content regularly across multiple social media channels and accounts, using overlapping content that follows brand partner expectations. Collaborating with Market Managers, Product Managers, Account Managers, Human Resources, Information Systems, and the company President.
    • Merchandise- Order from brand partners and third parties at the request of employees.
    • Advertisements - Coordinate with multiple advertising agencies on print and digital ads for a variety of publications.
    • Print- Design and have a variety of materials printed at the request of employees (pop-up banners, magnets, stickers, posters, etc).
    • Professional Company Documents- Update presentations, letterheads, business cards, etc. at the request of employees.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to translate complex product information into customer-friendly messaging.

Digital Marketing Strategy

  • Maintain and update four company websites, coordinating with our web provider.
  • Manage spending of multiple co-op accounts, working with Product Managers and other employees to allocate funds appropriately.
  • Film, edit, and post videos regularly on the company YouTube account, working with various departments to communicate the intended message.
    • Includes travel to the other Superior Diesel locations to create content.
  • Take high-quality photos that can be used across social media and websites.
  • Assist in the development and execution of SEO/SEM strategies.
  • Monitor and report on digital campaign and website performance metrics.
  • Stay up to date with social media trends, advertising technologies, industry advertising channels and opportunities, and best practices.

Event Coordination

  • Support planning and execution of trade shows, customer events, and webinars.
  • Prepare promotional materials and coordinate logistics for marketing events.

Brand & Messaging

  • Ensure consistency in brand voice and visual identity across all communication channels.
  • Assist in the development of internal communications.
  • Track marketing KPIs and prepare quarterly performance reports.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be a self-starter who can work independently and carry out assignments to completion with minimal instruction and adhere to established routines and practices.
  • Must be able to work well with others and assist the public cooperatively and courteously.
  • Must be able to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed.
  • Must be able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption.
  • Must have knowledge of English, including proper use of grammar, punctuation, spelling and style.
  • Must demonstrate competence with Microsoft Excel.
  • Must have an excellent work ethic and superior attendance.

 

Education and Experience Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communication, or Marketing is ideal
  • 2+ years of experience in marketing communications, preferably in a technical or industrial sector.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Familiarity with videography and / or photography
  • Proficiency in Graphic Design including Adobe Creative Suite, and / or Canva.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and marketing automation tools.
  • Familiarity with diesel engines, industrial equipment, or aftermarket parts is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Senior Accountant

Due to a recent acquisition, we’re hiring a Senior Accountant to support core accounting operations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. We’re looking for a Senior Accountant who enjoys digging into the numbers, strengthening processes, and partnering with leadership to keep financial operations running smoothly.

What you’ll do

  • Support month-end close, including preparing and posting journal entries
  • Perform budget-to-actual analysis and investigate variances
  • Reconcile multiple G/L accounts and prepare supporting documentation
  • Assist with audit preparation and execution
  • Review invoices for sales & use tax and maintain compliance documentation
  • Manage past-due accounts and work directly with customers to resolve issues
  • Cross-train across A/P, A/R, bank reconciliations, and vendor management
  • Use Excel to analyze data and create clear, actionable financial reports

What you bring

  • Strong general ledger and close experience
  • Manufacturing accounting experience preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience with an ERP system, preferably JD Edwards/Oracle
  • Detail-driven, organized, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
  • Clear communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments
  • Familiarity with IFRS and/or supporting a Canadian-based entity is a plus
